It’s just 24 days until we get to savor the 2024 Netvleish Boere Fest! Are you ready or are you missing out? For those who have already experienced it, there’s nothing more to say, but for those who haven’t yet, listen up! This is one heck of a bash. Don’t miss it, as the disappointment will last forever, and you’ll miss out on a fantastic experience.
This festival is the biggest BRAAI in Canada, I assure you. It costs nothing except for getting yourself here. You need to bring your own drinks if you’re not satisfied with our ginger beer, as well as a chair, an umbrella, and your own cutlery for Aunt Hantie’s pleasure. Also, bring lots of SPIRIT because that’s the secret ingredient!
All the meat, pap (porridge), sauce, and music are free. You can start setting up your tent, caravan, or RV from Friday and begin enjoying yourself at your own pace. But on Saturday afternoon, the real fun begins – music will start, feet will stomp, and the smell of meat will fill the air.
We’ll have a sheep or maybe three on the spit and grill everything from boerewors (farmers’ sausage) to bazaar kebabs in large quantities. Remember, we BRAAI, we don’t BBQ – you know the difference. So, there will be only pap, meat, and sauce. If you prefer vegetables, bring your own chicken.
There will be mobile toilets on site, and we will also provide water for washing purposes (not for drinking). If you want to camp, you’re welcome to stay until Monday, but then the toilets will be removed, and you’ll be on your own.
From Saturday afternoon, we’ll provide various meat snacks, like biltong and chili bites, to munch on while you enjoy your beer or try our ginger beer or something similar. For those who prefer something milder, there will be treats like milk tarts and coffee, which we’ll also provide.
Please note, the festival is a party, not an event where we sell our products. Maybe we’ll get there someday, but at the moment, we’re not ready for that and are short-handed.
